I'M NOT YOUR MANIC PIXIE DREAM GIRL - Gretchen McNeil

I don’t know what to write. It seems like I always have great taste in books (yay me!) and when I’m done I just have all of this words in me that I have to write down — which is why I started this blog in the first place. But this book just didn’t do that to me, and I don’t understand why because it’s absolutely my kind of book.

Beatrice has her own squad of nerds: Spencer and Gabe. Spencer is a brooding artist. Gabe is a witty and very sarcastic gay dude who definitely does not know when to stop talking. Bea is a math genius and lover of all numbers and mathematical theories and whatnot.

During the summer none of the three see each other; Spencer toured Europe’s art galleries, Gabe just played videogames and Bea, well Bea got herself a boyfriend Jesse.

Aw shit. Jesse. He sucks. Big time. Bea’s an exasperating idiot when it comes to people (which, honestly, same). Gosh. Throughout the books I just kept thinking, “Come on, dude. Think. Open your eyes. SOMETHING. Aaaaaaa.”

I did like the plot, and the characters. I think my non-feeling-ness comes from my acute exasperation with Bea.

Anyways, I liked the book. Didn’t love it, but liked it.

I LOVE YOU ALL. I LOVE YOU ALL. I LOVE YOU ALL.
